Cloud Architect
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Architect to join our growing team. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for working with a highly collaborative team to design, develop and integrate complex DevOps pipelines and enterprise technology solutions. Your expertise in cloud architecture, scaling, development opportunities, cost savings, and vulnerabilities will be critical to the success of our projects. You will engage with clients to suggest the best options for their cloud needs and ensure the high quality of project delivery.
The key performance indicators or KRA goals for this role include:
- Daily hands-on coding and problem-solving (65%) and architecture/R&D/meeting responsibilities (35%)
- Collaborating with team members to suggest best options for cloud architecture, scaling, development opportunities, cost savings, and vulnerabilities
- Designing, developing and integrating complex DevOps pipelines for build automation, CI/CD, IaC, security, monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Taking on work already in-line with projects and deliverables, as well as researching new projects for R&D
- Developing long-range plans with clients to adopt cloud best practices
- Kickstarting new client engagements and building enterprise technology solutions using Agile methodology
The ideal candidate for the Cloud Architect position should have:
- 3+ years of experience as an engineer
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical objectives and solutions to clients while cultivating professional relationships
- Proven critical and strategic thinking skills to address business, product, and technical challenges with stakeholders
- Strong hands-on expertise developing applications using Serverless Frameworks, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront, and Lambda
- Advanced knowledge of AWS environment and Serverless Environment
- Experience implementing IaC in AWS
- Scripting expertise, with strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Advanced hands-on experience with DevOps automation, including Containerization, API management, and multi-cloud solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for working in a startup environment and ability to be cross-functional
- A natural curiosity and excitement for learning new technology
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in migrations, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, etc.), scripting, containers (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate, etc.), and cloud security best practices
- Knowledge of networking and incident, release, problem, and change management processes
- Client-facing experience, including working on agile projects
- Consultancy/advisory experience
